Marcellino Voted For 182 Tax Increases In Last 4 Years
(Huntington, NY) Jim Gaughran today slammed Senator Carl Marcellino for voting to raise taxes 182 times in just the last four years. The taxes raised by Senator Marcellino harmed struggling families and local businesses and hampered economic growth.
“Our state’s economy has been battered by years of market uncertainty, diminishing manufacturing and sky-high taxes,” Jim Gaughran said. “For Carl Marcellino to vote nearly 200 times to raise taxes in just the past four years shows how out of touch he has become with the needs and concerns of Long Island families. To add insult to injury, for every $3 Long Islanders pay in taxes, we only get $2 back in our communities, meaning we are forced to subsidize New York City and the rest of the state. We need a Senator in Albany who will stand up for Long Island communities and work to help grow the economy, not stifle it. Carl Marcellino has proven that he’s more focused on rubber stamping tax hikes than working for our residents and businesses, and they deserve better.”
